Hello everyone,
On the 24th of May I went to Nawafiz 2025, and I made a little aftermovie I wanted to share with you.
It was a lot of fun. I got to Utrecht Central around 17:30, and while checking out with my OV card I met people going to Nawafiz as well, so we ended up going together. I chilled with them for a couple of hours, after which they went to meet some other friends there. It was a lot of fun, and we kept in touch. 😊
I also went to meet some friends that came to the event.
We have a standard group that goes out to Arab music events — it is always amazing.
The way it was set up was super nice. There was a room where you could buy food, until around 23:00 I believe. They had a little market where you could buy stickers, different shirts and other pieces of clothing, and other little souvenirs. And they had different performances all throughout the night. Until around 00:00 they had live performances/concerts, and after midnight it was mostly Dabke Night and Disco Arabesco. I would highly recommend both if you ever want to try out going out and dancing to Arab music.
And you really should, if you want to have a good time. Either alone or with others — both are a lot of fun.
Arab music is great, and the people in general are always just really nice. The group is always really diverse, both Dutch and international, from all over the world. Everyone is also really open and friendly. You can stay with your own group, or just go dance with random strangers. There is nothing better than when your heart is open for positivity, and the same goes for the people around you.
To me, Arab events always feel like coming home. Partly because of the music that reminds me of my childhood, but mostly because of the warmth of the people around you.
My friends left around midnight, and after that I just joined a random group and danced the night away with them. I think I spent about 75 minutes non-stop dancing, and I was really tired by the end. I got home around 03:30.

I at least know Disco Arab will be in Paradiso on the 26th of July, so feel free to check it out if you have time. Maybe I will see some of you there. 😊
